Our awards are designed for people preparing for various forms of Christian ministry, and for anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge and understanding of theology within a Christian context. The courses are taught in partnership with Trinity College, Bristol and students study alongside those training for ministry in the Church of England. Our undergraduate awards in Theology, Ministry and Mission are validated by Durham University.

All our academic programmes give students the opportunity to:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the Bible and Christian tradition.
  • Integrate knowledge and understanding with the development of professional and vocational skills.
  • Evaluate arguments and points of view  fairly and sensitively.
  • Develop the skills to pursue in-depth study of specialised areas.

There are specialist pathways through the awards for those interested in Baptist accredited ministry and children and youth ministry. These include a number of required modules but also give the opportunity for options. Other students can make their own choice of modules from across the subject areas of the awards.

For those not taking a specialist pathway, working at a placement is not a required element of the academic courses, but if you would like to gain experience serving in a church or pioneer context during your studies, we offer a church link up service. You can read more about that here. There are also some short-term placement modules which can be taken.
