Rebecca Thompson
Voice Coach
After studying Drama and English at Bristol University, I worked in Radio and Print journalism before deciding to take my LLAM Diploma through the London Academy of Dramatic Art (Lamda), to pursue a teaching career. Now working as a communication coach, my role is to work alongside children and adults, helping them to find and use their voices appropriately and effectively in their respective contexts. I have worked in schools, businesses and in Adult Training and really enjoy identifying the needs of every individual and then enabling them to explore their full potential as a public speaker. I am also an Adjudicator for the British and International Federation of Festivals, and on the team of examiners for Lamda Communication and Performance Exams.
I am firmly convinced that everyone has a ‘voice’ that can and should be used with impact in a public context. At Bristol Baptist College I really enjoy the length of time that I have to get to know every student and then work alongside them, so that whatever their personality and calling, I am able to support them in engaging with their vocal potential, and then draw on it creatively and confidently in their future role.
