From Mission to Missional Day 2

Bristol Baptist College Bristol Baptist College, The Promenade, Clifton, Bristol

Is God a missionary? Is the Bible a missionary text? How does God’s big-picture plan shape the purposes of his people, the church? What’s the relationship between mission and evangelism? What the difference between missionary and missional? How then should we live as God’s people - gathered and scattered?

This event is part of a Bristol Baptist College course called Equipping Missional Disciples (an access level course of Christian learning designed together with West of England Baptist Network).

This module is split into two Saturdays, each day has 4 teaching sessions. We provide plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits but recommend that visitors bring their own packed lunch. There is plenty of car parking available either on the college car park or on surrounding streets for no extra charge. Tickets are available for each day separately.

Day 2: 26th February 2022

Speaker: Revd Lindsay Caplen, a Regional Minister, West of England Baptist Network.

Cost: £15 + 1.76 Eventbrite fees.

What types of theology are there? What are the key theological beliefs? How is theology relevant to missional discipleship and leadership? How can thinking theologically help us better reflect on the issues of the day? Could it be that theology is actually really exciting?!

Leadership & Revival & Renewal and the Holy Spirit 2

Bristol Baptist College Bristol Baptist College, The Promenade, Clifton, Bristol
We are exploring what we are thinking and imagining when we speak of God the Holy Spirit. Similarly, in Day 2, we will discover what it means (spiritually and practically) to keep in step with the Holy Spirit, and the process of transformation to maturity. This has key implications for our personal discipleship as well as growing in Christian leadership. Then we will be learning about specific signs and wonders of the Spirit, namely healing and prophecy. All of this is framed within New Testament patterns that expect Holy Spirit anointing for leadership, which should surely be extra-ordinary in the local and global church. Then we will be learning about specific signs and wonders of the Spirit, namely healing and prophecy.
