Life can throw many traumatic events at young people - deaths of loved ones, parental separation, moving to a new school, and more. This workshop will looks at how we as youth workers can best support young people through these traumatic events. Led by Emma Duncan. BA Hons in Youth Work, MSc in Counselling. Emma has been working with young people for 20 years, first as a youth worker, then in vice, now as a counsellor and in education. VolTrain is a partnership between several organisations, including Bristol City Council, to equip, resource and train volunteer youth workers in the Bristol area, particularly those who come from small organisations with limited training opportunities. It is open to all volunteer youth workers across both statutory and voluntary sectors and is completely free. Paid workers may also attend if they are accompanying volunteers.
