'Hearts and Minds' is a day conference offered by Bristol, Regent's Park, and South Wales Baptist Colleges. It is intended mainly for Baptist ministers working in pastoral ministry or chaplaincy (that is to say, those who do not generally have the opportunity to present papers at academic conferences). It is particularly aimed at those who enjoy thinking, reading, and grappling with theological issues, such as practical theology, biblical studies or ethics. ‘A Peace Witness under Pressure: The Bruderhof Community in England, 1936-1942’ Dr Ian Randall explores the experiences of the Bruderhof, a Christian community which began in Germany in 1920 and which had to escape from the country in the 1930s because of Nazi pressure. By this time the community was an explicitly Anabaptist one, inspired by the early Hutterites.
