Community Day 2024
Westbury on Trym Baptist Church Reedley Road, Bristol, United KingdomOur annual Community Day is taking place on Wednesday 8 May at Westbury-on-Trym Baptist Church, beginning with coffee and tea at 9:30am.
This year, current tutors from the College are leading the sessions. Peter Morden will speak on “The Bristol Tradition: Past, Present, Future”, after which there will be opportunity for reflections in groups and feedback.
After lunch we will share community news and about recent developments in College life. These include the continued growth of the Centre for the Study of Bible and Violence, directed by Helen Paynter. Helen will lead a session on “The Growing Threat of the Extreme Right: How can Baptists Help?” with opportunity for questions and answers.
We will close the day with Communion which will be led by our Exeter Hub tutor, Eleanor Moffatt.
This is a crucial moment in the life of the Baptist Union and the wider church in the UK. Consequently it is a crucial moment for our College as well as we look to be true to the Bristol tradition and continue to serve faithfully and creatively in challenging times. Our aim is to identify, train and release new generations of planters, pastors and pioneers who will be involved in turning this nation round for our Lord Jesus. We are really keen to hear reflections from our wider community which will help us to do this. I am praying for a really significant Community Day.
We really hope you can attend in person and encourage you to do so if possible – please email Heather to book in, or to access the online live streaming.
