The Spiritual Child – Understanding and Nurturing Faith in Children and Young People
With Clare Hooper (SCBA Children’s, Youth & Families Minister)
Research recognises that children have an inherent spirituality which needs to be nurtured alongside their physical and emotional development. Drawing on a breadth of research, this training explores what we can learn about faith development so that we can meaningfully share the good news of Jesus with children/young people whilst recognising the strengths and gifts that they bring to the church. There will be time for discussion and reflection on your own setting and practice so it might be something you wish to engage with as a team.
The morning session (9am – 12.15pm) will focus on 0-11 years and will include working with families in mission areas such as toddler groups. The afternoon session (12.45 – 3.30pm) will focus on 11-18 years.
Cost: £10 for the whole day (refreshments included but please bring your own lunch), or £5 per session.
The session is being delivered throughout the year at a variety of locations to allow you attend one close to you.
