Equip

Equip: Youth Work Practice and Equip: Children’s Ministry are innovative training courses that will equip you with the core skills and principles that underpin working with children and young people; giving you the knowledge that you need to be a competent Christian Youth Worker or Children’s Worker.

Developed for everyone who works with children and young people; full-time, part-time or spare-time, these courses can be completed by youth and children’s workers of any age from 16+ and the training days would fit within a gap year or intern program.

The courses blend practical experience working at a placement with reflective learning and online activities to build a working portfolio that demonstrates your competence. Both courses are delivered in partnership with the Institute for Children, Youth & Mission (CYM).

You will gain the understanding you need to be a qualified children’s worker, or youth support worker, and the opportunity to put the learning into practice in the volunteering or part-time work you are already engaged in.

The course costs £750 in total, and this covers:

  • All training days
  • Access to experienced tutors
  • Access to course materials on MyCYM, the on-line learning environment
  • Assessment and feedback
  • Resubmissions

The next start dates for Equip Youth Work Practice and Equip Children’s Ministry will be in September 2019.
