Voltrain logoAutism is a condition which seems to be on the increase, and we hear of more and more people being diagnosed. So what is it? And why can it look so different? How can you as youth workers support a young person with Autism? This workshop is here to offer some background on Autism and the latest thinking on the condition, also to help give you a wider picture on how this behaviour can be reflected in young people, and what we can do to help.

Led by Jocey Twine, a Paediatric Occupational Therapist with 24 years’ experience, working in the NHS and private sector.

VolTrain is a partnership between several organisations, including Bristol City Council, to equip, resource and train volunteer youth workers in the Bristol area. It is open to all volunteer youth workers across both statutory and voluntary sectors and is completely free. Paid workers may also attend if they are accompanying volunteers.
