Michael comes to the College with many years’ experience of working in specialist libraries. Most recently, he was librarian at Wesley College Bristol, until its closure in a restructuring of Methodist theological education. Having cared there for important historic collections, he was then appointed as archivist for a Catholic Religious order, a role he initially combines with his commitments in College.
A poacher turned gamekeeper, he has research interests in areas of church history and the development of doctrine, and is increasingly attracted to the fields of library and book history. For lighter relief he enjoys discovering lesser known 19th and 20th century novels.
He worships at St Edyth’s, Sea Mills, where among other things he sometimes confuses the younger children in the Sunday School.
Little known fact? He finds clearing roadside grids after heavy rain particularly satisfying.
