On Saturday 1st February staff, families and friends celebrated with our graduates as they received their awards at a splendid ceremony in the Great Hall of the University of Bristol's Wills Building. Students from both Trinity College, Bristol and Bristol Baptist College were presented with certificates and diplomas, and admitted to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor David Clarke. In his Academic Report, Revd Dr Peter Hatton, Bristol Baptist College's Director of Studies, spoke warmly of the relationship with the University. The College was closely involved with the very beginnnings of the University in the nineteenth century and has maintained the links ever since. Though the College's validation for undergraduate awards is expected to move to Durham University from September 2014, as part of the ecumenical Common Awards, it is hoped that the association with the University of Bristol will continue through their validation of reasearch degrees.
